Yahoo Hack Day

September 27th, 2006

Yahoo is having their first open hack day this weekend. Details are here (on upcoming.org, of course).

They’ve asked me to be one of the judges, which is very kind of them. I’m hugely passionate about the live web (having spent the last 5 years in it and sometimes ‘on’ it) and it’s great to see them emerge as a platform. They get it more than most of the other big guys and their approach to acquisition integration has been much lauded. I’ve also been impressed with their approach to connecting people to technology. Smart.

Mike Arrington will be emcee’ing the event in his own inimitable way, and I’m sure TechCrunch will cover the notable points. I’ll do what I can to review some of the projects.

Their previous hackdays had phenomenal energy even though they were internal only. Goodness knows what a full-blown one will look like.

See you there!!

This Hackday looks better and better to me.
I guess, a lot of people will visit it, because it is so affordable to students.

Thank you for sharing this story with me !
